Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: 23 April 2026 (updated sections 4, 5 and 7 to match our fixed-fee payment model)
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.onlinelegalservices.ie and any services provided by Online Legal Services (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing this website or purchasing any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use this website or purchase any services.
1. About Us
Online Legal Services provides online legal information, document preparation services, and access to solicitor-reviewed legal services in Ireland.
Where explicitly stated, legal services are provided by or under the supervision of qualified solicitors regulated by the Law Society of Ireland.
Important:
No solicitor-client relationship is formed, and no legal advice is provided, unless and until:
2. Scope of Services
Our services may include, but are not limited to:
-
Fixed-fee legal document drafting and review
-
Online legal consultations
-
Initial legal assessments
-
Legal templates, guidance materials, and information packs
All services are provided remotely (primarily by email or video call unless otherwise agreed).
We reserve the absolute right to determine whether a matter is suitable for online handling.
3. No Reliance & Information Disclaimer
Any information provided on this website or prior to formal engagement:
-
Is for general informational purposes only
-
Does not constitute legal advice
-
Must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal advice
You should not take or refrain from taking any action based on website content without first obtaining formal legal advice.
4. Fixed-Fee Payment (Refundable if Unsuitable)
4.1 How we charge
Our services are sold at a fixed fee, shown in euro on each product page. The full fee is payable at checkout through our Stripe payment gateway. We do not charge hourly rates and there are no billable hours or hidden extras.
4.2 Refund guarantee if your matter is unsuitable
Before any solicitor time is spent on your matter, a solicitor reviews the information you submit. If the solicitor determines that your matter is not suitable for online handling (for example, it requires in-person court work, is out of scope of Irish law, or involves a conflict of interest), we will:
- Notify you by email within 2 working days of your purchase;
- Refund your payment in full, with no deductions;
- Recommend, where possible, a traditional firm or alternative route.
Refunds are processed within 5 working days to the original payment method.
5. Additional Work and Disbursements
5.1 Scope
Each fixed fee covers the scope of work described on the product page for that service, including one round of revisions where stated. Work that falls outside that scope (for example, corresponding with a third party on your behalf, or drafting additional documents) is not included in the fixed fee.
5.2 Agreed add-ons
If your matter requires work beyond the product scope, we will:
- Tell you before any additional work begins;
- Give you a clear, fixed quote for the additional work;
- Only proceed with your written approval.
5.3 Government fees and third-party charges
Certain services involve unavoidable third-party fees (for example, CRO filing fees, Stamp Duty, Land Registry fees). These are not included in the fixed fee unless the product page expressly says so. We will itemise any such disbursements in advance.
6. No Proceed Guarantee
If a solicitor determines that proceeding is not in your best interests:
-
We will advise you accordingly
-
No unnecessary work will be undertaken
-
Any deposit paid will be refunded in full
We are under no obligation to proceed with any matter.
7. Satisfaction Guarantee
7.1 Scope
For most services (including wills, contracts, tenancy agreements, and consultations) you may request a refund within 48 hours of delivery if you are not satisfied with the work, provided that:
- The request is made in good faith;
- You provide a clear reason;
- The request is received within 48 hours of the work being delivered.
7.2 When this guarantee does not apply
We reserve the right to refuse a refund where:
- The work has already been filed, submitted, or relied on by you or a third party;
- The service has been fully delivered in line with the product page description, and the objection is to the legal position itself rather than to our work;
- The request is not made in good faith.
7.3 Your statutory rights
This guarantee is offered over and above your rights under Irish consumer law. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 or the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
