Guide only — this matter needs a solicitor. Under Irish law this work must be carried out by a solicitor, so it is not sold on this site. The information below explains what is involved so you can brief a solicitor with confidence.

A company director immigration review in Ireland is a solicitor’s review of the immigration position of a company director, particularly a non-EEA director. This service looks at the Section 137 bond, single director rules, residency obligations and permit options. It is for founders, directors and companies who want to understand how company law and immigration rules interact before appointing a director or starting to trade.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a company director immigration review cost in Ireland?
This page is a free guide — nothing on it is for sale. Solicitors set their own fees for this work and must give you a written costs estimate (a section 150 letter) before starting. Get quotes through the Law Society of Ireland’s Find a Solicitor directory.
What is a Section 137 bond?
Under Irish company law, a company generally needs at least one director who is resident in the EEA. Where it does not, the company may need to put a bond in place under section 137 of the Companies Act 2014, unless an exemption applies.
Can a company director work in Ireland without a permit?
Being appointed a director does not in itself give a non-EEA national permission to live or work in Ireland. Whether a permit or other permission is needed depends on your circumstances, which the review will consider.
