The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 introduced new ways to support people whose decision-making capacity is in question. A Decision-Making Assistance Agreement lets you appoint a trusted person to help you access information and make and express your own decisions, while you retain control.
This fixed-fee service includes a consultation and a properly drafted agreement that meets the requirements of the Act and the Decision Support Service, covering the relevant decisions and the assistant’s role.
It is for people who are beginning to find some decisions difficult and want support arranged on a clear, lawful footing while they still make their own choices.
